in a thousand years

a thousand years in Thy sight
are like yesterday
when it passes
so is it really
too much to hope
that the small,
shriveled seed
i planted yesterday
might break open
tomorrow morning?

Now you remind me a little bit of Luci Shaw... Hope you do not mind occasional comparisons with other writers. The comparisons are meant as compliments. (And as John Steinbeck said, it is only through imitation that we develop originality.)

I just feel that I should be a little more widely read... :)

I'll google Luci Shaw too...

Na, don't worry too much about being widely read. You already love books, so you will read anyway :)
While talking about women writers though, they have had a big influence on me, including Patricia St.John, as mentioned before.
Can't remember if I mentioned Dorothy Sayers? Her book "The Mind of the Maker" is good, especially for writers. (Her life story is fascinating to say the least.)

Must stop.
God bless.
